From a Mentor...

"It’s a privilege to be a Mentor.

I learnt the principals and practices of Fundraising from people who were willing to share their knowledge and experience. There was no cost, they were just happy to pass on what they had learnt.

To me, it’s only right that I do the same and being a Mentor is one way of doing that. Hopefully I‘ve added, and can continue to add, some value!

The Mentees I have worked with have been based throughout New Zealand, from a cross-section of charities and have all been fantastic. I still keep in contact with many.

To be able to listen, guide, suggest, support, encourage is, as I said, a privilege and to be honest, a lot of fun. I’ve learnt so much and love seeing other fundraisers flourish. If anyone is thinking of  becoming a Mentor (or Mentee), please look on the FINZ website for more information."
