What does evidence-based research tell us about how to motivate donors? | Leo Orland

Fundraising has matured over the years and today there is a great deal of scientific studies on fundraising. As a result, fundraisers now have a body of evidence available to them. Which means we do not just have to rely on experience or opinion. This presentation focuses specifically on scientific based research into what motivates donors to give and how these findings can be applied in the real-world fundraising environment. There has been a number of important papers presented by various institutions in US, UK, and Australia. This session will summarise these research findings and give practical examples of they work in fundraising. A bibliography will be provided for those who wish to read the papers.
