BirdCare Aotearoa is a Department of Conservation permitted wildlife rehabilitation centre, dedicated to providing veterinary care and rehabilitation for sick, injured, and orphaned wild birds.

BirdCare Aotearoa responds to avian casualties primarily in the Auckland region and provides technical, research, and educational support to other rehabilitation facilities, veterinarians, wildlife agencies, academic institutions, and communities throughout Aotearoa.

Based in Green Bay, Auckland, BirdCare Aotearoa is the largest avian hospital and rehabilitation centre in New Zealand by the sheer number of birds cared for, admitting over 6,500 birds annually.

BirdCare Aotearoa is a member of the Wildlife Rehabilitators Network of New Zealand (WReNNZ). General Manager, Dr Lynn Miller, is currently the only wildlife rehabilitator in Aotearoa to hold the Certified Wildlife Rehabilitator (CWR) qualification, issued by the International Wildlife Rehabilitation Council (IWRC)
