The Philanthropy Manager is a newly created position within the college and is pivotal in ensuring the college can continue to forge ahead, leading the way in providing a world-class education for girls. The Philanthropy Manager will work within the Engagement and Communications Team to plan, develop and implement strategic fundraising initiatives while maintaining philanthropic relationships with the QMC community. The role will be critical in fostering a culture of giving through annual and regular giving, targeted appeals and major-level and principal-level gifts.

The successful candidate must demonstrate a mix of experience and will have a track record in developing and implementing philanthropy programs, including the ability to cultivate major gifts. The ability to advocate for philanthropic support of the college to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders will be fundamental in securing this role.

 

 

Position Purpose

Working within the Engagement and Communications Team the Philanthropy Manager leads the planning, development and implementation of strategic fundraising initiatives for the college. The position advocates for philanthropic support of the college to a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, fostering a culture of giving through annual and regular giving, targeted appeals and major-level and principal-level gifts.

Key Responsibilities

Advancement

Develop and implement a range of giving programs, including but not limited to:

  • principal and major gifts
  • mid-level giving
  • annual and regular giving
  • bequests

Build and strengthen the participation of philanthropy among a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

Build and maintain a portfolio of current and potential principal, major, and mid-level gift donors.

Attend network, development and community relations events.

 

Stewardship and donor relations

Working with the Marketing and Communications team to create relevant collateral.

Communicate donor/impact stories through appropriate channels.

Develop and deliver tailored donor relations activities for donors.

Create templates for acknowledgement purposes, pledge reminders and other communication purposes, ensuring quality and rotation of messages.

Produce donor-centred annual stewardship reports.

 

Experience

  • Successful track record of working with both individual donors, trusts and foundations.
  • experience in fundraising and donor stewardship
  • History of success in achieving fundraising goals.
  • Demonstrated combination of annual to mid-level giving experience and/or planned giving experience.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of fundraising, donor relations and stewardship concepts, procedures and practices

• Knowledge of advancement and strategic philanthropy practice in education
