Te tūranga / The role
Mercy Hospice is seeking a Philanthropic Giving Specialist to join our Fundraising team. Responsible for developing and executing strategies to enhance and
manage philanthropic contributions, this role will cultivate, solicit, and steward
relationships with high-net-worth individuals and significant contributors to MH.

Ngā kawenga matua o te mahi / Key responsibilities of the role:
- Collaborating with colleagues to develop and implement a comprehensive major gift fundraising strategy including campaign development and delivery.
- Developing, managing, and maintaining MH’s Gift in Wills strategy. Including identifying and cultivating potential GIW donors; providing regular updates on ‘move management’ of donors; and planning and delivering bequest-specific events.
- Maintaining and analysing accurate data management and reporting records of donor interactions, preferences, and giving history in the donor management system.
Ngā pūkenga e hiahiatia / Skills you’ll bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, business administration, communications, social sciences, communications and /or marketing, or a related field.
- Intermediate Microsoft skills
- Proficiency in fundraising software and CRM systems.
- Not-for-profit work experience
- Proven experience with major gift fundraising and planned giving.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive proposals and build meaningful relationships.
