About Us
Spectrum Foundation has been established to address inequality of access and opportunity for disabled people and their whānau head on. We are a strong ally to disabled people, their whānau and communities, working alongside them to ensure more of their needs are identified and met. To deliver on this ambition and meet this profound need, Spectrum Foundation funds new initiatives not currently available or where there are barriers to access. Our new fundraising team will assist this work by finding new partnerships and financial support for these initiatives. We seek applicants from all backgrounds to ensure we get the best, most creative talent on our team.
About the role
We are looking for an Individual Giving Manager to develop and implement an individual giving programme in our new fundraising team. This role is important in ensuring the success of our future fundraising activities developing our fundraising programmes from scratch, including direct mail and digital appeals, gifts in Wills, and in time, donor acquisition and retention. Reporting to the Director of Philanthropy and Impact, this role sits within a small, new fundraising team so you’ll also play a broad role in how the team will develop as it gets set up. We ask for flexibility from you to help our small team be established.
About you
You are a hands-on and donor-centric fundraiser with an interest in the issues that affect those who experience disability. You will bring an understanding of the full fundraising mix and have skills in individual giving. Focused on getting results, you thrive on sharing your cause with donors and prospects to grow their interest and giving. You have experience in direct mail appeals, running digital campaigns, managing a budget and reporting income and expenditure. You are happy to get out from behind your desk and talk to donors about the difference they are making.
What’s in it for you?
Flexible working hours and working from home options. Lots of support and a thorough induction to set you up for success. We will reward your innovation in the role with plenty of development and opportunity to take on more responsibility over time.
To be a success in this role you will bring:
- A sound understanding of the full fundraising mix, ideally with experience in either direct mail, digital appeals or gifts in wills
- Knowledge of e-Tapestry database or similar would be a real plus
- A highly organised, approachable and collaborative working style
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Empathy and a genuine desire to work in an organisation focused on disability
