The Cancer Society Wellington Division is a not-for-profit organisation with the Mission to Improve Community Well-being by Reducing the Incidence and Impact of Cancer.

The Mission is achieved through fundraising to fund volunteer driving services, health promotion, advocacy, cancer research,  and supportive care and cancer information services. Support services for people and their whanau affected by cancer are so important.

The Cancer Society Wellington Division is passionate about providing information, support and practical services, reducing cancer risk and advocating for our communities.

Reporting to the Fundraising & Communications Manager, the Individual Giving Lead will be responsible for the Cancer Society Wellington’s Regular Giving, Individual Giving, Cash and In-Memory programmes. Naturally, that includes donor journeys from acquisition, engagement, and retention; together with portfolio strategy development, forecasting, budgeting, campaigns project management and progress reporting. The Individual Giving Lead will manage all appeal channels, including p-DM, e-DM, telemarketing, social, digital direct and SMS.

The role also manages the Donor Care Advisor role - the Donor Care Advisor supports the Individual Giving Lead to fulfil donor journey strategies and donor information delivery using digital, social and 0800 telephone donor care channels.

The Individual Giving Lead will work closely with internal stakeholders, including other Fundraising & Communications team members, and in collaboration with other Fundraisers throughout Cancer Society NZ. This role will also work with a range of external service agencies, copywriters, designers and fulfilment providers to ensure all scoped work is best practice standards, within budget and on time.

The ideal candidate will have at least three years of experience in a similar charity role and understand donor journey strategies and individual and regular giving best practices. Excellent time and project management skills and experience working across various media channels are a must.

You will have high level written and verbal communication skills and excellent donor service skills. Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting, reporting and strategy development are vital, as is the ability to work with data using a fundraising database, such as Vega, to identify donor trends and giving patterns.

The salary for this role is $80,000 to $95,000, depending on experience, and this is a full-time position for 37.5 hours a week.
