Fundraising Manager - Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust & New Zealand Flying Doctor Trust - Christchurch

  • Location: Christchurch
  • Salary: $80K - $90K

The Canterbury West Coast Air Rescue Trust (CWCART) was set up in 1989 to fund the helicopter air rescue service in the region. In 2021 we completed over 1000 missions.

The New Zealand Flying Doctor Trust (NZFDT) provides a flying air ambulance service that is essentially an intensive care unit in the sky. We provide patients a seamless level of care from one hospital bed to another. We have national scope, taking children to Starship Hospital Children’s Hospital in Auckland, transferring burns patients to the National Burns Centre at Middlemore Hospital, and for other specialist services, like bringing spinal patients to Christchurch. Our patients include neonatal transfers, trauma victims and surgery patients, and we also deliver blood, and vital equipment supplies. Over 1,000 flights were completed last year.

Our Vision:

CWCART “Across the vast and rugged Canterbury West Coast region people can live their lives to the full assured that if they have a serious accident or medical emergency the air rescue will be there night and day free of charge to look after them and their families”.

“When time is of the essence and distance is an issue, the New Zealand Flying Doctor Service is the only option for many patients – 24/7; this flying intensive care unit gives patients a seamless level of care from bed to bed – they are in the safest of hands. “

Our Joint Mission Statement:

Our shared mission between both Trusts is to empower communities to join us in striving to raise funds to enable the Air Rescue and Air Ambulance services to save lives now and for future generations.

Our Team Values:

• Trust – it is a safe environment, we have each other’s backs

• Empathy – we think of others first

• Respect – we listen and respect every member of the team

• Self-awareness – we are aware of our impact on others in the team
