Who are we?

Big Brothers Big Sisters (BBBS) was established over 100 years ago in the USA and is the world’s largest mentoring programme, helping over 280,000 children around the world reach their potential through professionally supported one-to-one relationships.

BBBS has offices all around Aotearoa. In Christchurch, we support children facing adversity to build resilience (in children) and help empower them to achieve their potential. We recruit, train and support volunteer mentors and match them with local children to provide long term consistency and stability which helps ensure positive outcomes through our preventative mentoring program as they move through life's challenges and changes. The Opportunity

As the Fundraising and Marketing Lead, you will be responsible for achieving growth in funding from individuals and organisations from various sources including grant funding, events, community fundraising and corporate support. Creating and nurturing key relationships to ensure sustainable financial resources for BBBS is also a vital part of this role.

You will also execute high-quality and customer-focused marketing activity that aligns with the established Marketing Plan. You’ll oversee the rollout of branding, advertising and promotional campaigns in line with the BBBS National brand standards, managing the process from ideation to execution. You’ll maintain and strengthen BBBS’s overall brand through powerful storytelling and develop and manage all internal and external communication including email marketing, website, social media and media releases. 

Please note, this position is 30 hours per week. 

 

That’s where you come in

You will need:

  • A clean New Zealand Drivers Licence
  • Clean Criminal Record to work with tamariki

You will have a minimum of three years of fundraising and marketing experience that will allow you to work autonomously to deliver business targets. You will be able to produce valuable and engaging digital, print, and written content that clearly and consistently reinforces our unique value proposition and brand values.

Your exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills, along with highly developed communication and engagement skills will be crucial to your success. An empathy with the not-for-profit and community sectors will be essential.
