HAGAR is an international, faith-based organisation that works with women and children who have survived human trafficking, gender-based violence, sexual exploitation and extreme abuse. Based in Cambodia, Hagar also works in Afghanistan and Vietnam, supporting survivors in their recovery and working with governments, officials and communities to bring about change.

Hagar New Zealand is one of four international support offices raising funds and awareness to provide life-changing care to those in recovery.

 

OUR MISSION

Our mission is three-fold; to bring recovery for survivors of extreme human rights abuse and promote systemic change for our communities in Afghanistan, Cambodia and Vietnam as well as advocacy and awareness raising of what is happening here in New Zealand in terms of human trafficking and slavery and how New Zealanders can respond.

ROLE PURPOSE

The Fundraising and Communications Coordinator will be responsible for the continuing development and implementation of effective donor care processes and communications in order to maximise fundraising opportunities and contribute towards fundraising targets.

 

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Fundraising via Campaigns & Appeals

  • Create and implement all elements and aspects of fundraising campaigns

Fundraising via Donor Care

  • Create new donor relationships and build on existing relationships to walk with donors through their giving journey

Communications

  • Develop and maintain the overall tone and messaging of the organisation

Volunteers

  • Build relationships with existing volunteers and keep them updated with Hagar's work

Oversee CRM management of Salesforce database

 

KEY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience and proven success in Fundraising, Donor Care and Communications.
  • Have experience in content creation and communications, including Social Media.
  • Have excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Have excellent computer skills and expertise in various forms of presentation media.
  • Have the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Have the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Be passionate about social justice issues.
  • Be tenacious, determined and committed under pressure.
  • Be an enthusiastic self-starter who can channel energies in a highly organized way and achieve significant results.
  • Be confident with public speaking (preferred)
  • Be fully supportive of Hagar’s Identity as a Christian International Non-Governmental Organisation

Location: Christchurch based, but alternative locations will be considered

Conditions: Must have right to work in NZ and hold a current full driver’s licence
