Te Mahi / The Role

This role is an operational leadership role within the Fundraising & Marketing Team. You will join a high energy, high standards and high performing team who are very passionate about reaching revenue and awareness goals. This hands-on role is perfect for someone who is ambitious, has a strong passion for events and for the community, and who wants a role they can make their own!

As the Events and Community Fundraising Lead you will be responsible for (not limited to):

  • Contributing to generating funds through planning, leading, implementing and promoting both fundraising events and awareness-raising events throughout the year
  • Taking responsibility for developing and maintaining strong working relationships with community supporters, schools and corporate groups
  • Promoting and supporting 3rd party fundraisers hosted by individuals, community groups and corporates
  • Supervising and coordinating volunteers and youth ambassadors who fundraise for TH and who volunteer at our events
  • Working in partnership with the Marketing and Hospitality teams for hosting onsite internal and external conference room bookings

We are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm. A good communicator and relationship builder, you will be an ambitious team-oriented fundraiser. 

  • Must have demonstrated work experience in planning and implementing events – the more variety in your events portfolio, the better!
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written with confidence producing and delivering proposals, presentations and reports
  • Experience in initiating, developing and maintaining strong relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • Tech savvy and confident using both digital engagement tools and social media platforms
  • Full, clean NZ Driver’s licence
  • Full New Zealand working rights

Tōtara Hospice provides leading edge palliative care services within the community of south and southeast Auckland and has been since 1981.  We are based in The Gardens in South Auckland and have a workforce of 100-120 staff across clinical, allied health, people & capability, volunteer services, fundraising & marketing and retail who all share a common commitment to honouring living and dignifying dying. No one should have to cope alone. We are a collaborative team who work together across these departments to ensure we deliver the best service possible to our patients and whānau.

The salary band for the role is anticipated to be between $65,000-$75,000, depending on skills and experience.
