We offer free compassionate companionship and practical help for the elderly and the incurably ill of any age and their families with specially trained and supervised volunteers throughout the greater Auckland area. Amitabha Hospice is dedicated to developing and maintaining the highest quality of compassionate care in cooperation with other professional community services.


Job Description:

Help our Registered Charitable Trust with fundraising. Use your innovative skills to develop existing and new relationships and source other opportunities.

Work with our small team to collaboratively manage the functions of our palliative service.

Office administration includes meet and greet, Lotus database, XERO, social media, mailchimp and website

25 hours a week (usually 9:30 am - 2:30 pm) occasional evening, good for mums and retired fundraisers who want to work with a team of kind people


Job Key Responsibilities:


Fundraising -  Handling donations, grant applications and other sources of funding

Budget management - Record keeping e.g. staff holidays /sick leave using XERO with our accountant

IT office admin - With our Lotus data base and able to manage social media, mail chimp, and hospice website updates when necessary with our IT guy

Working with other staff - e.g. Arranging palliative care educational evenings with other staff members (once a month)

Meet n greet public 


Essential Skills Required

  • Charity fundraising experience
  • Budgeting experience with Xero
  • Compassionate communication skills
  • Clear police record
  • Covid 19 vaccinations and boosters
  • Diploma or Degree in Health Care or Business.
  • Minimum 2yrs professional experience with a volunteer organisation.
  • Understanding of Buddhism and Palliative Care an advantage
