The Fred Hollows Foundation NZ carries on the work of legendary Kiwi, the late Professor Fred Hollows, who championed the right of all people to high quality and affordable eye care. We work in the Pacific where four out of five people that are blind, don't need to be as their condition is treatable or preventable. We restore sight to the needlessly blind and train local eye health specialists to provide eye care services in their own communities. About the role

Reporting to the Fundraising, Communications & Marketing Director,the Direct marketing Manager/ the Individual Giving /Fundraising Manager manages the Acquisition and Loyalty Programme for our cash and regular givers. The role is an integral part of the Engagement Team that includes Fundraising, Communications, Marketing, Database Management, Supporter Services and Insight. The objectives of the role are to grow the income of the individual giving donor base through an integrated acquisition, retention and upgrade programme using direct marketing techniques. Tactics include advertising (online, print, radio and TV), direct mail, mass email, telemarketing, on-line shop and face-to-face fundraising.

This position calls for a hands-on and experienced Direct marketing/Individual Giving /Fundraising Manager who can lead a small team and collaborate with people across the organisation to deliver exceptional results from campaigns that support the acquisition, loyalty and reactivation of cash and regular givers.

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Five years or more experience in direct marketing for a charity or the loyalty programme of an FMCG organisation
  • A Bachelor's qualification or equivalent
  • Knowledge and experience of direct marketing and the regulations governing Individual Giving in New Zealand
  • Skills in briefing agencies, writing effective fundraising copy, managing a budget and reporting income and expenditure or Return on Investment (ROI)
  • Experience of using RaisersEdge or similar CRM
  • An eye for detail and a head for numbers
  • Capacity to work well in a high volume and fast paced environment with good team working skills

Familiarity with Pacific cultures would be ideal. A commitment to our mission and values is a must.
