About Breast Cancer Foundation NZ –

Established in 1994, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ is a not-for-profit, non-government organisation (NGO) that provides breast cancer education and awareness, medical research, training grants, advocacy and supports Kiwis with breast cancer. Our vision is zero deaths from breast cancer. Currently, over 3,500 Kiwis are diagnosed with breast cancer and over 650 die from breast cancer every year. BCFNZ’s programmes are evidence-based and overseen by its medical advisory committee.

About the role –

The main responsibilities of this role are to support the Corporate Partnerships Manager to manage Breast Cancer Foundation NZ’s corporate partnership network, support the Foundation’s cause-related supporters, and manage organisations fundraising as part of the Pink Ribbon Breakfast and Pink for a Day campaigns. This is a hands-on role liaising with sponsors, community fundraisers and supporting activities in the run-up to the Foundation’s campaigns and events. 

Key Responsibilities –

Corporate Partnership Support

  • Assist and support the Corporate Partnerships Manager with presentations, proposals and campaign reporting 
  • Sponsor follow up and liaison – primarily with Pink Product Supporters
  • Responsible for managing Cause Related Supporters
  • Scheduling, creation and management of partner benefit social media schedule
  • Organise meetings, including attending and minute taking at Board level. Prepare and distribute Board papers
  • Handle confidential matters

Fundraising Coordinator

  • Assist the community fundraising team with campaign and event planning.
  • Work with the community Fundraising Coordinator to support a diverse range of people undertaking community fundraising initiatives, including individuals, groups, businesses and schools. Guide them through BCFNZ processes and ensure fundraising opportunities and media awareness are maximised. Answer any questions and representing the Foundation in a positive and helpful manner.
  • Assist with the planning, implementation and supporter care for all BCFNZ Pink Ribbon community fundraising events and activities under the supervision of the Fundraising Campaigns Manager, including: Pink Ribbon Walk, Pink Ribbon Breakfast, and managing smaller fundraising initiatives.
  • Work with the Fundraising Campaigns Manager to ensure appropriate promotion (web, online, social media and print) opportunities for community fundraising initiatives and events.

Pink For a Day 

  • Project lead on Pink For a Day campaign – planning, resources, marketing, promotion and supporting fundraisers through the campaign. 
  • Looking for new opportunities for growth.

General Event and Marketing Assistance

  • Liaising with supporters, event management companies and managing interns. 
  • Implement marketing plans and ensuring website and social media content is current and updated.
  • Assist project leads with gift giving communications – acknowledgment letters, supporter recognition and thanking.
  • Manage the merchandising for community and Pink Ribbon community events – ordering, sourcing appropriate items, dispatching and stock control.
  • Working alongside the Fundraising Campaigns Manager to support other fundraising campaigns as required such as responding to enquiries, producing marketing media, merchandise.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for public approaching the BCFNZ regarding fundraising, communicating in a professional, clear and friendly manner. 
  • Supporting project and programme delivery where needed. 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience –

  • Previous experience working in a fundraising or marketing support role is beneficial
  • Social media marketing knowledge and fluency
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Have energy, initiative, and commitment
  • Excellent supporter stewardship / customer service skills
  • Confident working with Microsoft Office and CRMs (Salesforce) 
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Working knowledge of working in the not for profit or voluntary sector 

Reporting to –

As part of the Fundraising team, you will report to the Corporate Partnerships Manager. The position will work closely with the fundraising team and wider BCFNZ team.

From time to time the role requires travel, as well as evening and weekend hours, however, will usually be confined to 40 hours per week. 

The role is based in our office in Parnell.
