Your contribution will enable event participants to support The Cancer Society’s Mission: Improving community well-being by reducing the incidence and impact of Cancer

 

The Role Duties are:

  • To promote and build equity in the above-mentioned community fundraising events
  • Work collaboratively to plan and deliver within budget, on time and exceed the planned income targets
  • Building relationships with a wide range of stakeholders through third-party corporates, and hundreds of bespoke community fundraiser events, which take place each year throughout our communities
  • To coach, steward and create engagement with event participants and fundraisers to achieve and exceed their fundraising goals and campaign targets
  • Supporting a team of events staff and volunteers, ensuring wellbeing, personal development, and performance are all effectively managed
  • To proactively use social media, email, telephone, peer-to-peer fundraising platforms and face to face contact channels to develop event participation and to inform on the impact of event participants contributions which impact on the overarching promise of the Cancer Society’s Mission
  • Work closely with the Fundraising Team Events Lead to drive overall income targets
  • Act as an ambassador for the charity, deputising for the Fundraising Events Team Lead when necessary
  • Ensuring the effective stewardship of event supporters through effective communications
  • Developing a local network of supporters and volunteers to support the team

 

We are looking for these personal skills:

  • You’ll need to be a brilliant communicator with the enthusiasm and confidence to take a key role in an important aspect of the Cancer Society’s fundraising strategy
  • Two to three years’ experience in charity event fundraising activities
  • Proven self-starter experience and success in event organisation, sponsorship negotiation
  • Demonstration of event planning, development, and budget management for fundraising events more than $1.0 Million income per year
  • Exhibit proven ability to work to time, be adaptable and willing to follow instructions
  • Display team player attributes and confidence to take the lead on multiple activities required to carry out and fulfil on fundraising event foreseen and unforeseen scenarios
  • Experience of delivering a range of projects with responsibility for budget and income generation
  • Experience in event management of staff and volunteers
  • Exceptional skills and experience in relationship building, communication, and planning
  • Experience and understanding of H & S, Risk assessment, and event planning
  • A creative and innovative approach to planning and implementing a diverse range of appropriate events
  • Clean Drivers Licence
