Communications Advisor - Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust - Auckland

 

  • Located in Auckland CBD
  • Salary range $70-80k

 

What you will do: 

Based in our central Auckland offices, you will be part of our Fundraising team and will support the Communications Manager in achieving our communications and fundraising objectives, including upholding our position as one of NZ’s most Trusted Charities. This new role will require you to develop and maintain strong and trusted working relationships internally,  and externally with our major sponsors, on-line media contacts, television and video production companies, photographers, creative and digital contractors. 

 Specifically, you will: 

  • Research and provide regular content for web, newsletters, annual reports, appeal mailers and above and below-the- line initiatives as required
  • Assist our external stakeholders as required 
  • Work as a media liaison and on internal/external mission reporting 

 

What we are looking for: 

  • A relevant tertiary degree with 2-3 years’ experience in a communications role, with experience working with media, preferably in a not- for- profit
  • A warm and engaging style and manner and outstanding interpersonal skills so that you build effective relationships with key stakeholders
  • A positive 'can-do' and helpful attitude - loads of initiative and proactivity to get things done with the ability to  ‘think outside the square’
  • A great team player who enjoys collaborating  
  • The ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks and to be self- motivated with heaps of initiative. 
  • Exceptional communication skills – clear and articulate verbally and strong written skills 
  • Great administrative skills, with an eye for detail and accuracy - organised and efficient 
  • An understanding of Te Reo and a willingness to develop further cultural competencies is desirable 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as well as an aptitude for technology 
  • Flexibility to work outside of ‘normal’ office hours as required.  
  • You will require a full Driver’s Licence as you may need to drive our company vehicle on occasions. 
  • Willingness to travel within Northland, Greater Auckland, Hauraki Gulf, North Waikato and Coromandel regions

You must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa, and all offers of employment, will be conditional upon a satisfactory Police check (Criminal Record Check).

On average, we are tasked to over 1,000 rescue missions each year. We are staffed by a highly experienced flight crew consisting of Pilots, Intensive Care Paramedics, Pre-Hospital and Retrieval Medicine Doctors and Air Crew Officers.
