Course overview

For over 30 years the Fundraising School at Indiana University has worked to perfect ‘Principles and Techniques of Fundraising’ as the ultimate fundraising course.  They now work in conjunction with FINZ to offer you the opportunity to benefit from their masterpiece - commonly known as ‘101’.

This five-day intensive course is an invaluable, comprehensive training programme for all levels of fundraisers. Not only will you be able to respond to ethical dilemmas and challenges with professional skill, you will also learn to identify and validate prospective donors and manage the fundraising process.

101 will give you the skills and confidence to plan a strategic fundraising programme, structure a successful solicitation and recognise how planned giving benefits your donors and your organisation. 

Who should take this course?

The course is valuable to both new and seasoned professionals, volunteers and staff.  As a new professional, you’ll learn the “must-know” strategies and tools of fundraising that let you hit the ground running toward success.  For seasoned professionals, this course will teach you creative ways to handle common problems, refine your management skills and reinvigorate your enthusiasm.

EVA E. ALDRICH, MA, CFRE

Eva Aldrich is Associate Director of Public Service and The Fund Raising School at the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University. Ms. Aldrich is an alumna of The Fund Raising School and has been Associate Director since February 2007.

From 1995-2007, Ms. Aldrich held the position of Senior Writer at Johnson Grossnickle & Associates, an institutional strategy and advancement consulting firm.  At Johnson Grossnickle & Associates, she worked with clients on case statement development, feasibility studies, and foundation evaluation projects.  Prior to joining Johnson Grossnickle and Associates, Ms. Aldrich was Assistant Professor of English and Director of the Writing Center at Franklin College.

Ms. Aldrich’s work centers on the development and revision of The Fund Raising School’s curriculum.  She also teaches core curriculum courses and customized contract programs for The Fund Raising School, regularly makes conference and seminar presentations for the School and the Center, and has been published in the New Directions For Philanthropic Fundraising series from Jossey-Bass.  In addition, Ms. Aldrich is a member of CFRE International’s Exam Committee, which advises and directs on exam-related issues and develops policy recommendations on exam issues for the CFRE International Board of Directors.

Ms. Aldrich serves the nonprofit sector not only as a fundraiser, author, and teacher, but also as a board member and campaign committee member for several nonprofits. She earned a B.A. degree in English from Manchester College, North Manchester, Indiana, earned an M.A. from Indiana University, and is pursuing a Ph.D. in Philanthropic Studies from Indiana University.  She also holds the Certified Fund Raising Executive professional designation.

Please note below our  cancellation policy:

All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing.
For cancellations between 25 and 15 days prior to the commencement of #101, FINZ will refund the registration less an administration charge of $250.00.
For cancellations between 14 days and 8 days prior to the function, 50% will be charged.
For cancellations less than 7 days prior to #101, the total amount will be charged.
