CFRE

In the ever-changing world of fundraising, what is going to identify you as someone who will go that extra mile?

That’s where CFRE comes in. The Certified Fund Raising Executive is committed to ensuring excellence through a valid and reliable certification. Set up in 2001 CFRE has gone from strength to strength, not only gaining the highest recommendations nationally but finding acclaim globally. It is the only internationally recognised professional credential for philanthropic fundraising executives.

If you want to define yourself beyond a job description and carve a name for yourself with distinction, this qualification is for you. With the CFRE qualification you not only demonstrate your passion to your employer and colleagues, but find a sense of personal achievement.

If you have worked in fundraising for a minimum of five of the most recent eight years in positions where at least half your time was spent in fundraising then you are eligible to apply.

There are two steps to CFRE Certification: completing an application form and taking an examination. You must also pledge to uphold the Donor Bill of Rights and adhere to the CFRE Accountability standards.

The CFRE examination is designed as a generalist exam for fundraising professionals to demonstrate mastery of the six core knowledge areas related to fundraising practice. The exam tests knowledge and skills you use on-the-job rather than theory. The examination is neither designed nor intended to cover any particular aspect of the fundraising process in depth, but rather fundamental, baseline knowledge.

Once you’ve passed, you will have acquired a professional certification of proficiency and practice in fundraising!

So, if you want to improve your career opportunities, reflect your achievement, have greater earning potential and ultimately develop your skills and knowledge to be an effective fundraising executive, this is the course for you.

CFRE exams will be held in New Zealand during 2008 as follows:

24 May in Auckland (application deadline 24 April)
19 July in Wellington (application deadline 19 June)
6 Sept in Christchurch (application deadline 6 August)
